What everything you make is a Design. :)

A Simulation is a design with rules.

A Game is a design with rules and goal, and must be interactive.

Some games are open ruled, so you can make levels based on the open game rules or extend the rules.

Designs has many types: Gravity, Dominoes, Drop_Bounce, Rag_Dolls, Rube_Goldbergs, Contraptions, Quizzes, Machines, etc.

A design contains one or more design ideas. Some design ideas may have a common Design Pattern. Sometimes distinguishing a pattern and an ideas is easy, sometimes it is hard. One design idea may be used in many games and many types of game.
